Loneliness

-A FreeVerse

Loneliness Oh!My dear grand children!
When your parents came
You both jumped with joy
Merrily sat down in the car
And left us.....
Your grandpa and grandma
In dark..
How could I express
The pain of loneliness
Which we experience together?

The whole house has lost
The musical rhythm of
Your sweet utterances

The cloth-made Teddy bears
Which gained new life in your hands
Were totally dead in despair.

The plastic Toys and
The celluloid dolls
are weeping continuously
expecting your return.

The huge cot and
the foam bed upon it
where you will be running
Playing a 'Hide&Seek' game
Making us wake up
Till midnight
are longing for the
soft touch of your flowery feet

We can't wait till Monday
Please hurry up
and save us
from this monotonous loneliness.

(My Daughter &Son-in-law came on Friday evening and have taken with them for the week-end.
i have tried to ventilate my agony and despair, which torture me much after they have gone.
But I have miserably failed to communicate successfully.Unless you are left by your grandchildren,
you can not understand my feelings.)
